The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) praised Iraq's pivotal role in promoting regional security and stability on Thursday during Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein's visit to the alliance's Joint Command Headquarters in Naples, Italy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Hussein was officially received by the Commander-in-Chief of the Joint Command in Naples, Admiral Stuart B. Muench, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador to Baghdad, Nicola Fontana, and a number of senior NATO leaders." 

The statement continued, "The Foreign Minister held a meeting with Admiral Muench, who extended his congratulations to the Minister on the occasion of Iraq's National Day, stressing the alliance's keenness to strengthen the constructive partnership with Iraq."
