Within the framework of the 62nd session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Istanbul committee of defense and security of organization adopted a resolution supporting the territorial integrity of sovereign states, Siyavush Novruzov, deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, told Trend.

Siyavush Novruzov participated in this session.

He said the issue of the occupied territories was discussed during a committee meeting.

A member of the US delegation put forward a proposal that the territorial integrity of all sovereign states must be recognized, he added.

The corresponding resolution was adopted after the discussions, he noted.

Novruzov said despite the fact that the Armenian delegation opposed the adoption of the resolution, but to no avail.
