Joint NATO-Georgia Exercise 2019 will be held at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) in Krtsanisi near Tbilisi on March 18-29.
Around 350 personnel from 21 Allied nations (Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, UK and US), and four partner countries (Azerbaijan, Finland, Georgia and Sweden) will take part in the exercise.
This will be the second “multinational brigade-level, computer assisted, command post exercise” held in the country since 2016, according to the official press release by the Ministry of Defense of Georgia.
“NATO-GEO EX19 is an important exercise for Georgia and a significant milestone in strengthening NATO-Georgia military-political cooperation,” the Defense Ministry also stressed, adding that the exercise will further develop “interoperability of Georgian, Allied and Partner Forces, as well as Georgian command and control capabilities.”
The exercise will be conducted by the Georgian General Staff together with the support of NATO Land Command, and directed by the Joint Training and Evaluation Center mentored by NATO Joint Force Training Center.
