The NATO team consulting Armenian Defense Ministry on issues of developing defense education and strengthening building integrity paid yet another visit to Armenia on August 19-22.
The purpose of the visit was participation in the launch of the pilot project of “Building Integrity and Good Governance” subject, taught at military educational institutions of the Armenian Defense Ministry, as well as holding professional discussions.
The works of the advisory group were attended by relevant departments of the Armenia MOD, heads and professors from Vazgen Sargsyan Military University and Marshal Armenak Khanperyants Military Aviation University.
Head of the Human Rights and Benevolence Center of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Colonel Alexander Avetisyan received the advisory group on August 19. The sides discussed current state of the implementation of the self-assessment process for NATO Building Integrity Programme and events to be organized within the frames of the program. NATO representatives highlighted with satisfaction the progress in the self-assessment process and expressed readiness to expand cooperation in that direction.
On August 20 and 21 the advisory group visited military educational institutions, where “Building Integrity and Good Governance” pilot project has already been launched for students of the 1 year. Meetings were held with participation of the management and those responsible for the educational process.
The visit of the advisory group was summed up in a meeting with representatives of the Armenian MOD departments. The sides coordinated the future programs and directions of cooperation of NATO Advisory Group with relevant military and educational institutions of the Armenian MOD.
The Armenian Police has expressed interest in incorporation of “Building Integrity and Good Governance” subject at specialized institutions, as well as cooperation with NATO Advisory Group in this direction. The Armenian MOD also organized the meetings of NATO Advisory Group at police system institutions.
