Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa has met today in Brussels with the EU head of foreign policy, Federica Mogherini.

During this meeting, Mustafa briefed the senior EU official on the overall progress that Kosovo has made.

He said that Kosovo has delivered the criteria for the liberalization of visas, expressing his conviction that there will soon be a positive decision for the citizens of Kosovo.

The meeting also discussed the developments in Kosovo. Mogherini said that she hopes that political dialogue will help in overcoming the gridlock in the parliament of Kosovo.

Both interlocutors praised the progress made last year in the relations between the EU and Kosovo, bearing in mind that the Stabilization and Association Agreement will enter in force on April 1.

Mrs. Mogherini stressed the importance of this first contractual relation between the EU and Kosovo and reiterated her engagement to work with PM Mustafa and Kosovo authorities to promote further progress in the agenda between the EU and Kosovo.

She also confirmed the EU’s readiness to move forward in the process of the liberalization of visas for Kosovo, once the criteria are met.
