MEETING OF KYRGYZ, TURKISH FMS ON MARGINS OF OSCE COUNCIL OF FOREIGN MINISTERS

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The meeting was held on the margins of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Cooperation and Security in Europe (OSCE) in Bratislava, Slovakia.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed various areas of Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation.

The Kyrgyz and Turkish foreign ministers noted with satisfaction the level of bilateral cooperation, expressing hope for further intensification of the entire complex of relations between the countries.

The results of the 9th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, and the Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Forum held on Nov. 21-22, 2019 in Ankara were positively noted.

Aidarbekov and Çavuşoğlu also agreed on the organization of high and highest level visits in 2020.

On Dec. 5-6 this year, the 26th OSCE Ministerial Council is held in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The Kyrgyz Republic delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov, is taking part in the work of the meeting. Chingiz Aidarbekov is expected to address the Council, as well as to hold a number of bilateral meeting with the OSCE management and heads of delegations of the OSCE member states.

The Ministerial Council is the central decision-making and governing body of the OSCE. The meeting, held annually, provides the Foreign Ministers of the 57 OSCE participating States an opportunity to review and assess the Organization’s activities and strengthen the dialogue on security issues in the OSCE area.
