The eighth Russia–Kyrgyzstan Interregional Conference ‘Towards New Horizons of Strategic Partnership and Integration’ will be held in Bishkek on 27–28 March. The event is being organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Roscongress Foundation. The event is timed to coincide with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
“Kyrgyzstan and Russia have had, have, and will continue to have common interests and values that unite our people and hold steady in mutual relations. Our countries cooperate in a wide range of areas: from politics and economics to culture and education. Kyrgyzstan is an active player in the Eurasian space and one of Russia’s key strategic partners in the trade and economic sphere. Given the high interest in the event from both the Russian regions and business community, I am certain that the forum will plot a productive course for business, financial, and economic cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan,” Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.
The conference programme includes a plenary session and topical round tables during which participants plan to discuss ways to maximize integration potential within the Eurasian Economic Union as well as bilateral cooperation within the framework of the EEU digital agenda, the use of digital technologies in agribusiness, and prospects for cooperation in the financial sector. Events on the sidelines of the conference will also include a networking area for the business community, a seminar titled ‘Products Promotion to the Russian and Kyrgyz Markets’, a pitch session by Russian and Kyrgyz companies, and a business breakfast with regional and business leaders hosted by Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Oleg Pankratov.
Regional leaders and businessmen will also sign a series of agreements during the conference. In addition, the Forum of Rectors of Kyrgyzstan and Russia will be held on the sidelines of the conference on 27 March.
