Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah held talks on Monday with Iraq's chief lawmaker Mohammad Al-Halbousi, focusing on plans to improve bilateral ties.

Amid the discussions, which also touched on current happenings around the world, Iraq's top parliamentarian commended His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's commitment to ensure a conflict-free Middle East.

He was appreciative of the copious amounts of aid Iraq has received from the State of Kuwait, while the Kuwaiti top diplomat pointed out that Al-Halbousi's visit was a testament to close ties both nations share.
The talks were held in the presence of a number of Kuwaiti diplomats. (end)
