IRAQI-TURKISH DISCUSSIONS TO ENHANCE BORDER SECURITY AND IMPLEMENT BILATERAL AGREEMENTS

Iraq and Turkey discussed, on Tuesday, ways to implement the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries and coordinate efforts to contribute to enhancing border security.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr al-Ulum, held a meeting at the ministry's headquarters with the security committee of the joint planning group with Turkey, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The meeting was held “to follow up on the work of the technical and security committee concerned with coordinating efforts between the two sides within the framework of the Permanent Joint Security Committee (Iraqi-Turkish), which emerged from the joint strategic agreement between the two countries for the year 2024, with the participation of representatives from the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministries of Interior, Defense, Migration and Displaced Persons, and the Military Industrialization Authority, in addition to several advisors and specialized officials from the relevant departments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
