Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met, on Tuesday, with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Iraq, Mr. Maher Salem Al-Tarawneh.

The Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “The meeting reviewed ways to advance bilateral relations between the two countries in areas of mutual interest and to strengthen trilateral cooperation among Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt, given its positive role in reinforcing security and stability across the region.”

The statement read “Prime Minister Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s firm position in support of Syria’s security, territorial integrity, and stability. He noted that the transfer of ISIS terrorist detainees from Syria to Iraq was carried out by the Iraqi government to safeguard national, regional, and international security. He called on the concerned countries to cooperate on this file and to repatriate their nationals among the detained terrorists.”
