Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting, on Thursday, regarding the Sovereign Guarantees Initiative, and directed its activation due to the country's need for it. 

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting regarding the Sovereign Guarantees Initiative, attended by the Minister of Finance, the Director General of Public Debt at the Ministry, the Head of the Sovereign Guarantees Committee, the Chairman of the Trade Bank of Iraq, and several members of the Advisory Board."
