The President of the Iraqi Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid confirmed on Wednesday that Iraq is ready to work to bring the views of Ukraine and Russia closer together, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised Iraq's neutral position on the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.

The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met today, in the Congress in Davos, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, within the framework of his participation in the work of the World Economic Forum."

It added that "a number of pivotal issues on the regional and international arenas were discussed during the meeting."
