Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani underscored on Tuesday, that the principles of truth, social justice, and equality, exemplified by Imam Ali (peace be upon him), will serve as the cornerstone of the government agenda.

In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Al-Sudani said “I extend sincere congratulations to our people and the Islamic nation on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir, praying to the Almighty Allah that our country may be blessed with goodness, love, tolerance, and further progress and prosperity."

He added: "By declaring Eid al-Ghadir as an official holiday and a national occasion for all Iraqis, we collectively reflect on the lessons ingrained in the noble life of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), in establishing the values of truth, social justice, and equality as guiding principles for our government and a path towards achieving our people's interests."
