The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, discussed recently the work of the Higher Military Committee (HMC) with the US Under Secretary of Defense, Sasha Baker, during their meeting at the headquarters of the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon).

Hussein emphasized during the meeting that the government is eager to develop bilateral relations in economic, commercial, and security areas and that it aspires to a bilateral partnership with the United States and its allies, according to a statement released by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

The meeting addressed the presence of the international coalition in Iraq and the US strategy regarding the international coalition troops’ planned exit from the country.
