Iraq's Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein reiterated Iraq's support for peaceful political solutions on Monday, stressing that dialogue is the best means of resolving crises and avoiding escalation.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein met with Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa at Al-Qudaibiya Palace in the Bahraini capital, Manama."

"The meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, while emphasizing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in supporting regional and international stability."
