Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met on Thursday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, Ambassador Joshua Harris, to discuss the latest security developments in the region, particularly the recent tensions in Aleppo.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that “Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, Ambassador Joshua Harris.”

“During the meeting, bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States were discussed, along with ways to enhance joint cooperation in various areas of mutual interest,” the statement noted.
