IRAQ AND KUWAIT DISCUSS DEVELOPING SECURITY COOPERATION AND ENHANCING THE SECURITY OF THEIR SHARED BORDER

The Commander of the Border Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul-Wahab Sukkar, met today, Thursday, with the Head of the Kuwaiti Border Security and Coast Guard Sector, Major General Mijbil Fahd bin Shawq.

A statement by the Border Forces Command, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), noted that "as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and sustain security cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the State of Kuwait, Border Forces Commander Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul-Wahab Sukkar met with his counterpart, the Head of the Kuwaiti Border Security and Coast Guard Sector, Major General Mijbil Fahd bin Shawq, at a border point on the Kuwaiti side of the shared border."

The statement added that the meeting addressed ways to develop joint security cooperation and coordination, thereby enhancing shared border security, coordination, and information exchange, and discussed various issues of mutual interest.
