The head of Iraq's National State Forces Alliance, Sayyed Ammar Al-Hakim, confirmed on Monday that the election results carried clear messages reflecting the Iraqi people's commitment to the democratic path.

Al-Hakim's office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the head of the National State Forces Alliance, Sayyed Ammar Al-Hakim, met this evening in his Baghdad office with the Director general of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nagaoka Kansuke, in the presence of the Japanese Ambassador to Baghdad, Akira Ando."

"Al-Hakim discussed during the meeting the developments in the political landscape in Iraq following the recent parliamentary elections."
