The European Union has once again reiterated that Kosovo still has two remaining criteria to deliver in order to benefit from the visa liberalization regime.

Maja Kocijancic, spokeswoman of the EU head of diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, declared today that Kosovo must continue to show results in the right against corruption in high levels.

She also mentioned the meeting that president Hashim Thaci had with the head of the European Commission, Jean Claude Juncker, which discussed the delivery of these criteria.

“In a meeting with President Thaci, President Juncker congratulated him on the progress that Kosovo has recently made in this aspect, but this work must continue”, she declared.

Kocijancic said that Kosovo has attempted to approve the border deal with Montenegro, but this attempt has failed.

“The Commission recognizes the efforts that Kosovo has made to ratify the border deal with Montenegro. Based on the proposal of the Commission  in May 2016, the ratification of this agreement is one of the criteria for the liberalization of visas”, she says.
