Azerbaijan has extended coronavirus lockdown restrictions including the closure of borders until July 1, the government said on Tuesday.
It said internal flights could resume from June 15 but that all people must stay at home in big cities, including the capital Baku, on June 14 and 15 after the number of COVID-19 infections rose. Similar restrictions were imposed on June 6 and 7.
Azerbaijan introduced measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus on March 24 and has extended them several times, most recently until June 15.
Shopping centres, cinemas, restaurants and cafes reopened on May 31 but the wearing of protective face masks and social distancing is mandatory in public spaces.
The South Caucasus country of about 10 million people had registered 8,191 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 98 deaths as of Tuesday.
