Greece backs Europe’s collective defense while developing national counter-drone technology

Greece is confronting the rapid rise of drones in modern warfare on two fronts – at the European level through the European Union’s plans for a “drone wall,” and domestically through new air-defense cooperation with Israel.

The European Commission’s recent announcement to establish a unified “drone wall” covering all external EU borders by 2027 has been welcomed in Athens.
