Newly-elected Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan is paying a two-day official visit to Georgia.
Pashinyan was hosted at the Governmental Administration by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
At the face-to-face meeting the officials discussed further deepening of bilateral relations and development of cooperation in various spheres.
Kvirikashvili congratulated the Prime Minister of Armenia with the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia and noted that his visit was symbolic.
According to the Georgian PM, the two countries simultaneously declared independence and established the first republic.
“The Armenian people demonstrated their commitment to unity and democratic principles, which resulted in a peaceful change of power. I'd like to take a chance and wish you success. I am convinced that we will be able to deepen bilateral relations between the peoples who have centuries-old friendship," Kvirikashvili addressed Pashinyan.
Armenian PM thanked his counterpart for hospitality and underlined long-lasting friendly relations between Georgia and Armenia.
“Our peoples are deeply connected and this connection is inseparable. It is symbolic and it is not accidental that I am paying my first official to Georgia. This expresses not only my and my people’s attitude to the Georgian people and Georgia,” he stated.
According to Pashinyan, the new government of Armenia will not spare efforts to further develop bilateral relations with Georgia.
“We are here to reiterate that we should deepen our relations with Georgia and create friendly background. We want to see strong and sustainable Georgia," he said.
After the face-to-face meeting, Cabinet members of the two countries held a joint meeting, where mutual political, trade-economical, educational and humanitarian-cultural relations between the two states were discussed.
