Armenian deputy speaker Ruben Rubinyan has called on Catholicos Garegin II to resign, claiming he is not willing to serve as the spiritual leader of all Armenians.

Rubinyan accused Garegin II of acting in a way that undermines national unity, Caliber.Az reports.

He highlighted an incident during a visit to Georgia last year, when his delegation—including opposition figures Vaagn Aleksanyan, Shirak Torosyan and Artsvik Minasyan—was denied access to the Armenian Church of the Holy Cross in Akhalkalaki.
