Sergei Kopyrkin, Russia’s Ambassador to Armenia, has confirmed that Moscow is open to consultations regarding the opening of the “Trump Route” in southern Armenia and its coordination with Iran.

In an interview with the Syunik Yerkir newspaper, Kopyrkin emphasised that one of the consistent priorities of Russia’s foreign policy is to strengthen peace and stability in the South Caucasus. “In line with this principle, we naturally support any efforts aimed at normalising relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he said.

Regarding the “Trump Route,” the ambassador noted that Russia’s official position will be determined once there is a detailed understanding of how the transport project will be implemented.
