Albanians of Montenegro have played a major contribution in the strengthening of relations between this country with Albania and also on the independence, accession in the NATO and the European integration of Montenegro.

Such fact was confirmed by president of Albania, Ilir Meta during a meeting with the chairman of the Democratic Force Party, who is also mayor of Ulcinj, Nazif Cungu.

Among others, the head of the Albanian state also highlighted the importance of the improvement and the growth in the number of border crossing points between Albania and Montenegro.

Meta also stressed the great importance of the support that Albanians of Montenegro show for Albanian parties in local government elections and central government elections.

“The unification of stances by Albanian political parties in Montenegro, would make it easier for Albanians to uphold their interests”, the Albanian president said.

Meanwhile, the representative of Albanians in Montenegro requested President Meta’s help to exert his influence on the central authorities of Montenegro in order to improve the electoral law in Montenegro, which would significantly improve the representation of Albanians in the parliament of the country.
