On 3 February 2017, Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) held a meeting on the book titled "They Trusted Turks - Refugees in Turkish Lands Through History" (Türklere Güvendiler – Tarih Boyunca Türk Topraklarına Sığınanlar) by Ret. Ambassador Ender Arat.

Ret. Ambassador Ender Arat, who served in the Permanent Mission to the EU in Buenos Aires, Bonn, Budapest, Madrid and Brussels, as the Head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Turkey, the Chief of the Foreign Office of the Prime Ministry and the Deputy Undersecretary in charge of Economic and Cultural Affairs. In his book, "They Trusted Turks - Refuge in the Turkish Territories Throughout History", published in 2016, he penned the communities that differed in terms of ethnic, religious and national elements who escaped from the pressure and torture for centuries.

E. Ambassador Arat also stressed that Turkey has an important place in the eyes of the people who seek refuge in Turkey during the presentation of the book. The work of E. Ambassador Ender Arat is important that should be read nowadays, in the context of xenophobia, Islamophobia, anti-immigration and extreme nationalism in Europe.

The book launch was concluded with the question and answer part.
