Assoc. Dr. Halil Yurdakul Yiğitgüden's book titled “Bakü-Tiflis-Ceyhan Boru Hattının Yaşanan Tarihi” (“The Witnessed History of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline”) was published in cooperation with the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) and Terazi Publishing.
Having served as the Undersecretary of the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources between 1997-2003, Assoc. Dr. Halil Yurdakul Yiğitgüden personally took part in the negotiations of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline. In this book, Yiğitgüden explains how the political and commercial problems and private sector conflicts of interest encountered during the BTC project were overcome through harmonious and constructive cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant institutions, and how such an important foreign policy success was achieved.
AVİM is very pleased to publish this book that tells the story of the BTC pipeline from Yiğitgüden’s own pen.
