2018 SPECA ECONOMIC FORUM WAS HELD IN ALMATY BETWEEN 20-21 SEPTEMBER

2018 Economic Forum of the Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) and the Thirteenth Session of the SPECA Governing Council were held on 20-21 September 2018 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) is represented in the 2018 SPECA Economic Forum held in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe by Ambassador (R) Çınar Aldemir.

Under the theme “Twenty years of SPECA: A new stage in regional cooperation for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, the 2018 SPECA Economic Forum considered progress in transport, trade, energy and information and communication technology, through regional cooperation over the past two decades as well as structural economic transformation undertaken to ensure realization of benefits resulting from such cooperation and recommended measures to further enable regional economic integration and cooperation for the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals in the seven landlocked SPECA participating countries.

AVİM is regularly invited to the SPECA Economic Forum meetings.
