Voting in the elections to the local self-government of Georgia ended, the polling stations closed at 20:00, APA reports.
According to the law, precinct election commissions must begin counting votes. Data from the polling stations will come first to the district commissions, and then published on the website of the Central Election Commission of Georgia.
On October 21, 2017, 22 political parties, 5 electoral blocs and one initiative group were registered with the CEC for the election of representatives of local self-government, and 200 initiative groups were registered with district election commissions.
369 people were nominated for the post of mayor, 13 of them claimed to be the head of Tbilisi: From the Georgian “Dream party” - former football player, former Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze, the National Movement party is represented by a former journalist, news anchor on Rustavi 2 channel Zaal Udumashvili, “European Georgia Party”-Elena Khoshtaria, independent former TV presenter Aleko Yelisashvili, “Labor Partyl”-Georgy Gugava, “New Georgia Party” -Georgy Vashadze, “Alliance of Patriots”-Irma Inashvili, "Construction Movements" - Tengiz Shergelashvili, "Democratic Movement-Independent Georgia" - Kakha Kukava.
The number of majority candidates was 4,727, and the number of candidates on the list of parties is 12,902.
The names of the voters in the lists are 3 440 123 people. The total number of observers was 75,611. 4 820 journalists also watched the process.
