Russian and Ukrainian delegations are meeting in Paris for talks as efforts to calm tensions over Moscow’s military buildup on its neighbour’s frontier continue.

The high-level meeting, also attended by senior diplomats from France and Germany, brings together the four parties to the 2015 Minsk peace accords which sought to end fighting in eastern Ukraine.

It comes as the United States and United Kingdom have toughened their threats of sanctions on Russia and warned of possible measures directly targeting President Vladimir Putin should it attack Ukraine.
