Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has dismissed the significance of a planned European Union financial support package for Armenia, saying it would have no meaningful economic impact.

Speaking to Interfax, Overchuk said the proposed assistance of around €50 million would be insufficient.

“This solves absolutely nothing. These are not the right figures. Our trade volumes (with Armenia – ed.) are completely different; I don’t even want to comment on this,” he said.
