Country prepares for a change of government in Warsaw after the turbulent rule of the Law and Justice party.

After eight years in power, the Law and Justice (PiS) party is facing its last day in control on Monday; by evening, Donald Tusk is expected to be in charge of a new government that’s promising a revolution in both domestic politics and in Poland’s relationship with the outside world.

“We must be able to convince ourselves, Poles and the world around us, that we are restoring the rule of law, that this is not another iteration of some civil war between squabbling political forces,” Tusk told a Friday news conference in the Polish parliament after meeting with members of his future Cabinet.
