Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan welcomes any initiative which can bring peace and stability to Afghanistan as the entire region will benefit from it, reported by Radio Pakistan.

He was talking to Chief of General Staff of Russian Armed Forces, General Valery Vasilevich Gerasimov,  in Moscow.

Matters related to regional security, stability and bilateral military cooperation came under discussion.

General Grasimov appreciated Pakistan’s achievements in war against terror. He said that Russia supports Pakistan’s efforts towards reconciliation and peace in Afghanistan and is willing to play a role in achieving this goal.
