Plans to establish twinning between the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China and the Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyzstan were discussed in Bishkek, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.

The issue was discussed at the meeting of Vice Chairman of the People's Government of the XUAR of China Sun Hongmei with Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev.

The head of the Ministry of Economy noted the saturation of the Kyrgyz-Chinese bilateral relations in 2022, and informed about the work of the Kyrgyz side to strengthen the Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints, as well as the dynamics of growth in freight traffic on the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border.
