Veseli vows the 100 percent tax imposed in November last year in all imported goods of Serbia will not be rescinded and if Serbia continues its aggressive campaign, Pristina will have to reconsider in addition to trade a full reciprocity with Serbia. “The tax was introduced to protect interests of Kosovo citizens. Our strategic partners, the US, have not asked us to revoke the decision on tax they don’t want to damage the reputation of the state of Kosovo. Allies are asking to continue the dialogue on reaching a final agreement which means getting recognition from Serbia and a seat into the United Nations,” Veseli said in an interview with Tirana based TV A2.

Veseli said that Serbia should respect the state of Kosovo in order for Pristina to reconsider its decision on tax. “We will continue with full reciprocity. If they block Kosovo’s goods we will block their goods. If they don’t recognize our car plates, we will not recognize theirs. If they don’t recognize stamps of Kosovo state, we will not recognize Serbia’s stamps. So we will introduce a full reciprocity and 100 percent tariffs will remain depending from Serbia’s actions,” Veseli said.
