Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) should be involved in UN peacekeeping operations, said Kazakh President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev during the CSTO summit in Moscow on May 16.

"The CSTO has become an effective mechanism for multilateral cooperation," Tokayev said.

"In our opinion, we should already set the task of involving the CSTO in the UN peacekeeping operations. This step will strengthen the legal capacity of the CSTO and ensure the practice of participation of the organization in international peacekeeping operations," he said.
