Iraq's Acting Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi confirmed on Monday that Iraq's parliamentary and governmental diplomatic efforts aim to spare the region a large-scale war.

A statement by the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi met with the Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, on the sidelines of the (149) session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which is being held in the Swiss capital Geneva from October 12-17, 2024," where Al-Mandalawi discussed with Qalibaf the developments in the region, especially the Zionist terrorist crimes witnessed in Palestine and Lebanon.
