MENAfn (23 September 2018)

(MENAFN) Iraqi people who had escaped their countries and took shelter in Syria in 2014 when ISIS took over Mosul have made their return to their homelands.

The news has been announced in a statement issued on Saturday by Yacoub Salim, an official at the Iraqi Transport Ministry.

"A total of 355 displaced people were transported from the Al-Hol camp inside Syrian territory via the areas of Rabia, Owainat, Mosul, and then to a center for the displaced in the Hamam al-Alil area in northern Iraq's Nineveh province," the official declared.

The Al-Hol camp, in close proximity to the Iraqi-Syrian border, is reported to be still hosting countless of Iraqi families who escaped Mosul.
