'Today is an important day for our national defense and Greek diplomacy,' says Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Saturday hailed the US decision to sell the country up to 40 F-35 fighter aircraft, thanking Secretary of State Antony Blinken for informing Congress about the State Department decision.

"Today is an important day for our national defense and Greek diplomacy," Mitsotakis said in a video message posted on his X account shortly after receiving a letter from Blinken informing him of the US decision.
