On 24 April, the project facilitated signature of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on professional cooperation between Kosovo* National Preventive Mechanism against Torture and Swiss National Commission for Prevention of Torture. The signature ceremony was organised in cooperation with the Ombudsperson Institution and the Swiss Embassy in Pristina.

The MoU sets the basis for joint work and partnership in coordinated monitoring activities of forced return operations involving Kosovo* citizens from Switzerland. Strengthening of this partnership is one of many positive side effects of the project that resulted from interaction between beneficiaries and international experts and synergies created during the implementation of activities.

The project Strengthening the National preventive Mechanism in Kosovo* is funded by the Council of Europe, Swiss and Norwegian governments, and implemented by the Council of Europe in partnership with Ombudsperson Institution.
