The most direct and unequivocal impact of the coronavirus on the political environment of North Macedonia can be seen through the status and rating of the Minister of Health, Venko Filipce.

The pandemic has directly influenced his political transformation from an outsider who did not even enter the candidate lists of the governing Social Democrats, SDSM, into a man who then got a key role in the campaign and election victory of the party.
