National governments across the EU have named their candidates for the next European Commission, which will be headed by Germany’s Ursula von der Leyen. Here is a rundown of the names on the table so far.

There is an informal deadline of 26 August for all names to be submitted to the incoming Commission, which will take office on 1 November. Nominees will be grilled by Parliamentary committees starting in late September and then face a confirmation vote by MEPs in October.
