Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan is going to create own party and become an opposition.

“If you are returning to politics you should think about it,” Kocharyan said in an interview to Russian RIA Novosti.

He said the name of the party is not a principle issue. “The approaches are principle. I see a serious vacuum in today’s opposition field, and I think it should be filled stemming from the interests of the country,” Kocharyan said, adding that he has no wish to get a high post.

“If I had such strive I would not live my personal life for 10 years. The situation develops in a way that it engulfs us into the processes,” he said, adding that he cannot avoid it due to his biography, character and life position.

Speaking about upcoming parliamentary elections, Kocharyan said he does not manage to get prepared for it.

“I was not member of any party. It means I am creating a party from zero and not restoring the one I had. Besides, I would like to participate in the elections with new, refreshed team. Usually, when you want to create a team you draw your attention on the people you know,” he said, adding that the current situation though demands involvement of new, talented young people.

“Of course you should involve old team members too, with who you worked and who you know, but the accent should be put on the new generation which is not an easy thing to do and demands time,” Kocharyan said.
