National Security Adviser Qassim Al-Araji affirmed on Tuesday, that the goals of Iraq and  Iran are common in keeping the region away from any escalation or tension.

The media office of the National Security Adviser said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The National Security Adviser, Qassim Al-Araji, received in his office Vice-President of the Judiciary in Iran Kazem Gharibabadi , and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad," Pointing out that "the meeting witnessed a review of the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries and ways of strengthening them and adopting dialogue and understanding to solve problems, in a way that serves the interest of the two peoples and the two neighboring countries."
