The Armenian government approved the bill "On the body for preventing corruption" at a regular meeting, according to which, a fundamentally new body to combat corruption will be established in the country.

The agency, which will be created on the basis of the Commission on Ethics of High-Level Officials, will monitor ethics issues, conflicting interests and other requirements for officials, News.am reported.

The requirements will apply not only to high-ranking officials, but also to employees in areas with high potential risks of corruption: public procurements, prosecutors and investigative bodies.
