INTRODUCING THE LATEST ISSUE OF INTERNATIONAL CRIMES AND HISTORY - CRIMEAN TATARS UNDER TSARIST RUSSIA AND SOVIET UNION
One of the most determined and loud-voiced opposition to the Russian annexation of Crimea in March 2014 came from the Crimean Tatars. In response, Russian authorities took rigorous measures to crack down on the Crimean Tatar opposition and its leadership.Scrutinizing the reasons behind the oppressive and vindictive actions of Russia towards Crimean Tatars and, similarly, the resistance of Crimean Tatars to the annexation of Crimea by Russia is necessary for a sound understanding of the current and future political developments in Eurasia.
In this regard, the journal International Crimes and History has dedicated its latest issue to the subject of Crimean Tatars under Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union.
