INSTRUMENTS USED BY THE ARMENIAN PROPAGANDA FOR PERCEPTION MANAGEMENT: MEMORIES OF MIGRATION AND OF MIGRANTS – PROF. BİRSEN KARACA
The Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) will host Prof. Birsen Karaca, faculty member at Ankara University Faculty of Languages and History – Geography Department of Armenian Language and Culture, to deliver a conference titled Instruments Used by the Armenian Propaganda for Perception Management: Memories of Migration and of Migrants.
The memoir literature is an instrument frequently used by the propaganda of Armenian genocide allegations. In recent years, oral history, microhistory and similar approaches which have become more popular within the context of new pursuits in the field of historiography, has led to a more frequent usage of the memoir literature in academic studies on the events of 1915. At the conference, Prof. Birsen Karaca will share her views on how the memoir literature, particularly the memories of migration and of migrants, have become instrumentalized for the propaganda of the genocide allegations.
AVİM wishes to welcome you at this meeting that will be held on 2 March 2017 – Thursday at 14:00-16:30 at AVİM Conference Hall.
The conference will be in Turkish.
