Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed on Thursday that Iraq is safe, stable, and united, and that this stability would not have been achieved without the sacrifices and support of the tribes for the state.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with a group of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries from Balad District in Salah al-Din Governorate."

According to the statement, al-Sudani recalled "the honorable stances of our authentic Iraqi tribes and the martyrs, and their courageous stand against the ISIS terrorist gangs," noting "the importance of drawing upon these stances to fortify against those who seek to sow discord and division, because Iraq is a diverse country with its fraternal communities, which represents a source of strength and cohesion for society."
