First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev met with the Director General of the NATO International Military Staff, Lieutenant General Janusz Adamczak.

Valiyev welcomed the NATO delegation and commended the current state of Azerbaijan’s relations with the Alliance, emphasizing the importance of further developing mutual relations, the Defense Ministry told News.Az.

In discussing the historical significance of the remarkable Victory achieved in the Patriotic War under the leadership of Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, the General Staff chief emphasized that the Azerbaijan Army rigorously was following the norms and principles of international humanitarian law throughout the military operations, ensuring that the civilian population was not targeted.
