Dr. Turgut Kerem Tuncel has been the Senior Analyst at the Ankara-based Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM). He has also been the Managing Editor of the bilingual (Turkish and English) and biannual Avrasya Dünyası / The Eurasian World journal since 2019. Previously, he worked as a research/teaching assistant at Bilkent University and İstanbul Bilgi University between 2001 and 2009. Dr. Tuncel has a Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Research from Università degli Studi di Trento (Italy). His book titled “Armenian Diaspora: Diaspora, State and the Imagination of the Republic of Armenia” was published in 2014. He is the author of several book chapters and articles, and numerous commentaries, op-eds, and analyses. Dr. Tuncel’s research focuses on Turkish foreign policy, Eurasian geopolitics, Central-Eastern Europe, the Wider Black Sea Region, and the South Caucasus.
